Parma 2014: Adding emotion to transactional loyalty.

On Friday the 24th of October Giuseppe traveled to Italy to speak at the 2014 edition of the Loyalty Observatory Congress organized by the University of Parma. 

The Loyalty Observatory Congress in an important annual gathering where top retail executives from Italy come to find out about the latest trends in loyalty. This year the theme of the event was “the transition from paper to digital in loyalty”. As we were invited to speak at the congress we decided to give a presentation on "how to add emotion to transactional loyalty", with a focus on collecting stamps in short loyalty programs from paper to mobile.

Retailers face the paradoxical challenge of managing scale VS customer intimacy; data and mobile are the solution to the challenge, delivering customer intimacy at mass scale. Our presentation outlined how collecting digital stamps boosts the performance of a loyalty program and adds a more personal feel, as well as the opportunity for 1 to 1 communication.
