LiveCastr has been shortlisted for an M&M Award in the category “Best Use of Creative Media” for the Samsung Share Your Dutch Soul campaign held during Queens Day 2008. IceMobile and Muse, creators of LiveCastr, joined forces with Starcom to create a campaign that promoted the new Samsung Soul during Queens Day. Party-go’ers where invited to stream live video from their mobile phones to the largest screen in Europe and a special Queens Day action page on Holland’s largest social network.

So was the Reporter game that IceMobile created for Samsung and Red Bull in cooperation with Starcom and Muse. The high octane aerial event was broadcast live by five winners of the Red Bull reporter game with their mobile phones. They had VIP access to the event and used their brand new Samsung TouchWiz’ and LiveCastr to stream video to the biggest screen in Europe - live!

The Webby Awards, hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times, recognized LiveCastr as an Official Honoree in the category Mobile Social Networking, a distinction that recognizes work exhibiting remarkable achievement.

LiveCastr, developed by “World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer” IceMobile in cooperation with Muse, will enable the next phase of online social networking. Through LiveCastr people can broadcast live video directly from their mobile phones to the web, allowing their online friends to follow them from any event, anytime, anywhere. The live video can be viewed on the LiveCastr website or on a LiveCastr player that users can place on their personalized profile page on their favourite online social network.

LiveCastr was launched in private beta in January of this year, during the Annual Meeting in Davos. Over the last months, IceMobile has developed partnerships with social networks and signed deals with leading advertisers that will use LiveCastr to reach and interact with their customers.

The 12th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states.

LiveCastr will enable the next phase of online social networking. Through LiveCastr, users can broadcast live video directly from their mobile phones to the web, allowing their friends to follow them from any event, anytime, anywhere. The live video can be viewed on a LiveCastr player that users can place on their personalized profile page on their favorite online social network. During the beta period, the LiveCastr will be available on invitation basis only.

LiveCastr works on all 3G video call mobile phones (300+ different models in the market according to GFK), without the need to download and install software on the phone! A downloadable application will also be available.

The opening was attended by 150 guests.

After having had its office in Amsterdam's suburbs for 5 years, the HQ of IceMobile has moved to Amsterdam's prestigious ‘Zuid-As'. The new office offers space for over 60 people and will enable IceMobile's future growth. IceMobile has used this occasion to enhance its corporate identity and website to reflect what IceMobile represents today.

The new office, corporate identity and website clearly express IceMobile's leading position in creating, developing and internationally distributing creative and innovative mobile entertainment formats.

IceMobile's office will officially be opened in September by Amsterdam's mayor, Mr. Job Cohen.

IceMobile has now launched its services in over 20 countries on 4 continents! Mobile operators include Vodafone, T-Mobile, and Orange. IceMobile plans to broaden its network of mobile operators with additional operators over the next year. Furthermore, IceMobile is happy to see that existing long term mobile operator partners are launching IceMobile's new formats.

Through IceMobile's VideoCall2TV technology and format, users can express themselves instantly in the morning show by making a video call from their 3G mobile phones to the TV program and participate in the show with live video images.

In January KRO had started the selection of ‘mobile reporters', users that will participate in the show by broadcasting live from their mobile phones. At launch, 12 mobile reporters (out of a couple of hundreds applications) were selected. These reporters will have 2 way video call communication during the show and will enrich the show with live user generated content.

As the first Dutch broadcaster, SBS will offer ‘made for mobile' content sites for all mobile phones. All relevant information regarding SBS's channels - SBS6, Veronica, Net5, Caz and Veronica Magazine - will be provided on the portal, including a large amount of mobile video content. Next to SBS content, IceMobile will offer a selection of its own ‘made for mobile' entertainment formats.
